Baritone Mark Diamond, a native of Augusta, Georgia, received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Georgia Southern University, where he studied voice with Dr. Allen Henderson. He completed his Master’s degree at The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University while studying with Dr. Stephen King and his doctorate at The Moores School of Music at University of Houston where he studied with Joseph Evans.
She graduated from Kingwood High in 2001 and ventured east to South Carolina to attend Furman University, the same university her parents attended. Her mother, Melanie, studied with famed vocal professor Elena Nikolaidi. When Knauer was younger, she would go with her mom to the lessons, fascinated by the whole process.“I’m proud of his work establishing the Kingwood Chorale and that it continues today as strong as ever,” she said.
“This will be special not only because I’m singing with the Kingwood Chorale, which my dad founded, but on the stage of my former high school,” Knauer said.He described the first and last movement of the music, “O Fortuna,” meaning fortune, as the most famous classical work in the 20th century. The theme is used frequently in movies, commercials, and even by college marching bands for its driving, primitive-sounding quality.
