Human Rights Day: 'We should fight to remove ANC from power', says Azapo HumanRightsDay

VEREENIGING - Opposition parties used Human Rights Day commemorations in Sharpeville to solicit the votes of residents on Tuesday.

Parties including the Pan Africanist Congress, Azapo, ActionSA and the African National Congress held wreath laying ceremonies at the Phelindaba Cemetery to remember the 69 people who were killed by apartheid police in 1960.All the political parties including the ANC reflected on the sacrifices made by those who are buried there.Opposition parties made bold statements to discredit the governing party.After welcoming all parties, Azapo leader Simphiwe Hashe took a swipe at the governing party.

ActionSA’s Funzi Ngobeni said their event sought to remind the people of Sharpeville that there is an alternative to the ANC. The singing of struggle songs will linger in Sharpeville as commemorative events were the order Human Rights Day.
