Hugh Jackman was confirmed to be joining Ryan Reynolds in Phase 5's Deadpool & Wolverine back in September 2022, reprising his role of the clawed X-Men member from 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise.
A deleted scene from 2013's The Wolverine, Hugh Jackman's second solo project as the clawed mutant, teased him wearing a more comic-accurate, yellow-and-brown costume in future projects. This scene provided a glimpse at Wolverine's iconic mask and gloves from Marvel Comics, but Jackman's next appearance as Wolverine in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past omitted this costume completely.
