The new Isle of Man Ferry Terminal is nearly complete
A video posted to the Isle of Man Government's YouTube page shows the scale and effort that went into the construction of their new Ferry Terminal. Footage shows the Lara 1 pulling the pontoon across the River Mersey, which occurred on day one of the operation. The pontoon measures 27.9 metres and weighs over 180 tonnes. It's function as part of the new Terminal is to link the bridge with the quayside. The video also shows how the bridge was put into place, which happened on day two of the operation. The bridge is 66.5 metres long and weighs 171 tonnes. As shown in the video, the Lara 1 was easily able to put it into position.
