Set in the Bo-Kaap neighbourhood, Huawei set up an FTTR smart home with its F50 solution to highlight what fibre connectivity can do.
At Africa Tech Festival 2024 earlier this month, Huawei showcased what a smart home connected with Fibre-to-the-Room could look like.
This week it specifically shared a recent showcase of a Fibre-to-the-Room home, or FTTR smart home, which was set up in the historic “This stunning intelligent showhouse can run up to 128 IoT devices on a single network at the same time. The enterprise alternative can have up to 300 simultaneous connections. Huawei’s innovative adhesive fibre cable, called the Self-bounding Transparent Fiber, seamlessly fits into the design aesthetic of any home and can easily be installed without the need for power tools and home remodelling,” Huawei shared in a release with Hypertext.
