Beekman 1802 launched a capsule collection of soaps, creams, and fragrances based on SchittsCreek, and we have to wonder: Would Moira Rose approve?
Photo: Pop TV Last week, upstate New York lifestyle brand Beekman 1802 launched a capsule collection of soaps, creams, and fragrances based on the Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek. The show follows the four members of a wealthy family — actress matriarch Moira, businessman patriarch Johnny, influencer daughter Alexis, and high-maintenance gallerist son David — who lose all their money and have to move to their last remaining property, a downtrodden motel in a tiny town.
David: We don’t have a coat of arms. [Beat.] Although we did come close a few years ago when Alexis had that momentary dalliance with a certain hair-challenged prince …Moira: But John! More grave matters are perilously at stake! David, You need to march straight to these [Reads name on the soap’s wrapping] Beekmans and defend our family name!
David: Um. Rose. Their idea. Put that lip balm back, Alexis. [Alexis hesitates.] This isn’t the VIP tent at Coachella. [Alexis still hesitates.] I don’t care if you sampled it. It’ll be our tester.MOIRA stands up and John puts his arm around her, their faces filled with pride. Moira: That is a commendable start, indeed! You might not be aware that your mother had many a hand in some of the world’s top olfactive creations. May I remind you that yours truly was the muse for a certain Electric Youth fragrance back in the ’80s … ?Moira: [Hands on hips.] WHO WAS MY MENTEE! Do you think she just conjured up that signature porkpie chapeau herself?
