While the shutdown of routine daily life, including the closure of schools due to the Covid-19 outbreak, is like nothing most of us have ever experienced, I can't help feeling a little bit of déjà vu. Luma MuflehWhen I was 15 and living in what was then my home in Aman, Jordan, my school closed for three months during the 1990-1991 Persian Gulf War. I was terrified. Even though we were living through a war — Jordan had sided with Iraq — it was hard for me to imagine that it would come to this; school closures, not being able to see friends and constant worry about what would happen next.
