How to capture beautiful rays of sunlight in a forest.
The Speulderforest is a beautiful and serene forest, and one of the best ways to capture its natural beauty is through photography. It’s one of the more popular forests when it comes to woodland photography in The Netherlands.
In this article, I will share my experience of photographing this forest that I gained over the years! However, these tips are applicable to all forests when it comes to photographing sun rays.+ Sigma MC-11 + Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS USM. 116mm, f/14, 1/15s, ISO 100. The best time of day would be during the early morning when the sun is low in the sky and the light is at its most golden. The atmosphere should be humid, which happens mostly after a cold, cloudless night with little to no wind. It doesn’t have to be foggy. About an hour after sunrise, the sun rays will start to appear. This is the time when the sun rays are at their most intense, and they will create the most dramatic shadows and highlights in your images.+ Sony 24-105 F/4 G. 105mm, 0.
Since the forest can lack light during sunrise, you end up using a slower shutter speed. Using a tripod is therefore recommended to create sharp, crisp images without motion blur.
