🍺 Chancellor Jeremy Hunt linked Britain leaving the EU with his decision to freeze draught beer duty in the Budget ⬇️ Joe Duggan explains:
“With duty primarily paid by suppliers, such as breweries, it’s essential that any benefit is passed through to venues to help deliver the Government’s objective of reducing inflation and growing the economy.”
While Mr Hunt’s was technically correct that his draught beer measure would not have been possible without Brexit, that is because under EU rules alcohol duty does not allow differentiation by package type, the BBPA confirmed.
