JOHANNESBURG - The National Assembly recently passed the controversial Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Bill .Despite resistance from several civil society groups, the bill is aimed at curbing road traffic violations by penalising drivers who are habitual offenders.All motorists start with 0 points.
Should a driver reach 12 points or more then their license will be suspended for a minimum of three months.Once a license has been suspended three times then it will be cancelled.If a person is found driving with a suspended license will be liable to a fine or imprisonment not exceeding one-year.
