More households could opt for their own power solutions if they were financially rewarded for selling back power to the grid, says an industry expert.
South Africa could improve its means of incentivising more consumers to sell power back to the grid. An industry expert suggests we are losing out of the opportunities to add more capacity to the power system that could come from feed-in-tariffs, such as those introduced in Europe.
Feed-in-tariffs are such that consumers are compensated for exporting power back to the grid.
