A man from Northern Ireland has become only the fourth person on the island to win a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Masters title in the United States.
Aaron Devlin trains at the highly-respected Mix Martial Arts gym Team Torres in Derry under Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo black-belt, Martin McLaughlin.
"It was the only time that I ever got emotional after I won a competition and it wasn't because I had just become a world champion," Devlin said. "That's when Martin McLaughlin started coming down to take a wrestling class once a week, and I was actually thinking of quitting MMA at that time. I had enough because the training wasn't what I had expected it to be previously.
"My parents allowed me to do what makes me happy and never pushed me too hard. My coaches always thought I could do something special and Martin would tell me that, but I found it very difficult to believe it myself.
