How Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu plans to use her reign
In 2000, India's Lara Dutta took the crown, while in 1994, Sushmita Sen gave India its first Miss Universe win.
"This has been an experience of a lifetime!" Harnaaz said in a press statement shared by the Miss Universe Organisation. "The past three weeks have been a dream getting to know these exceptional women, and I'm honoured to be chosen among them to represent this inspiring organisation. I hope to serve the global community to the best of my ability in the year to come."Currently pursuing her master's degree in Public Administration, Harnaaz is also an actor and enjoys yoga, dancing, horse riding, playing chess and cooking.
The beauty queen will"use her time as Miss Universe to advocate for menstrual equity through public administration," the press statement reads.The 21-year-old grew up helping her mother at health camps and educating women about menstrual hygiene.
