Robert Downey Jr. made ten appearances in the MCU as Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, and had to make the difficult decision to kill many of his enemies over the course of his heroic career. Iron Man kick-started the MCU in 2008, introducing Robert Downey Jr. as the franchise's first on-screen superhero, based on Marvel Comics' Iron Man, who debuted in 1963's Tales of Suspense #39.
9 The Incredible Hulk Robert Downey Jr. only made a very brief appearance in 2008's The Incredible Hulk, showing up during the film's post-credits scene to talk about the Avengers and the Abomination with William Hurt's General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. Stark didn't kill anybody in this scene, though that doesn't mean that The Incredible Hulk wasn't without its fatalities.
6 Iron Man 3 In the wake of The Avengers, Marvel Studios again released solo films featuring the three primary members of the team, starting with Iron Man 3 in 2013. Iron Man 3 introduced Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, a man masquerading as the Mandarin, Tony Stark's archenemy from Marvel Comics, and also debuted Extremis in the MCU.
3 Spider-Man: Homecoming After the events of Captain America: Civil War, which introduced Tom Holland as the MCU's Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. made an appearance in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming as the young web-slinger's mentor. Since Homecoming dealt with a young hero entering the MCU proper, only one person was seen to be killed on-screen, and the person responsible was the film's villain, Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. the Vulture.
