Nearly a decade ago the Pew Research Center first reported signs of Facebook’s demise, with teens showing “waning enthusiasm” for it. The next generation of internet users and spenders were fleeing the platform. CEO Mark Zuckerberg then bought two competitive apps that were popular with youngsters: Instagram and WhatsApp .
