How Downs missed out on entering world records

In the DStv Premiership alone, the last time Sundowns lost a game was back in September 2022 after a 2-1 loss to rivals SuperSport United.Since then, they have gone on an unbeaten streak which has carried over into the 2023/24 season, where they are seeking to become the first side in the history of South African football to finish the league season without defeat.
German champions Bayer Leverkusen broke a 59-year European unbeaten streak record which was previously held by Benfica after clocking 50 games unbeaten following their 2-2 draw against AS Roma in the UEFA Europa semi-final second-leg.
