A Texas homeowner is recovering after he survived a deadly Saturday shootout with burglars he confronted as they were attempting to steal from his garage. The 60-year-old homeowner was identified as a Houston native.
The 60-year-old homeowner, identified as a Houston native, was shot through the thigh and suffered multiple bruises and scrapes after he was made aware of the burglary around 3:00 a.m., according to a report.His Ring camera alerted him that at least two men with backpacks were leaving his garage with a box filled with tools.The thieves shot the homeowner in the leg, but he returned fire and killed one of them, according to the report.
"It's not true," the neighbor said."You hear gunshots all the time. We have a Ring thing. The Ring thing goes off all the time. 'Did you hear the gunshots over there? Did you hear the gunshots over here?'"
