The House Intelligence Committee issued subpoenas to former national security advisor Michael Flynn and former Trump campaign deputy chairman Rick Gates for documents and testimony on Thursday, the latest salvo in the fight between Congress and former members of the president’s inner circle following the release of the Mueller report.
“Both Michael Flynn and Rick Gates were critical witnesses for special counsel Mueller’s investigation, but so far have refused to cooperate fully with Congress. That’s simply unacceptable. The American people, and the Congress, deserve to hear directly from these two critical witnesses,” said Rep. Adam Schiff , the committee chairman.
