A five-star, wellness oasis with spectacular views in the heart of Val Thorens
A ski-in, ski-out hotel from the Beaumier group, Le Fitz Roy was originally built in the 1970s. The five-star hotel was renovated in 2020, before officially reopening in December 2021.With beautiful rooms and family suites, Le Fitz Roy nails alpine chic. Think luxe, soft fabrics, like jewel-coloured velvet armchairs and warm-toned bouclé curved sofas.
Comfort meets chic in the cosy rooms, complete with a balcony overlooking the snow-covered pistes – ideal for a morning hit of fresh mountain air. I was lucky enough to score a room with a large bathtub, a welcome sight at the end of a long ski day, a projector , a large double bed and extra-large wicker wardrobe for storing my ski essentials and then some.Green marble-clad bathrooms with gold detailing add a touch of opulence, complete with Diptyque toiletries.
The restaurant serves three meals a day, and while dishes change throughout the season, a trusty staple remains and is not to be missed - wood-fried leeks with egg vinaigrette and trout roe.
