'Hopefully it will carry on', says young fan who inspired Jack Grealish 'worm' celebration 🔴 Finlay Fisher, 12, could not believe his eyes when Man City star Jack Grealish kept a promise he made during a training session for children with disabilities

“At first, I thought he was going to forget,” Finlay, from Wythenshawe in south Manchester, toldFinlay said Grealish was his favourite England player because he “understands what it’s like” living with cerebral palsy, and believes he will go on to score “four or five” goals in the World Cup.

Finlay appeared on numerous TV channels yesterday, including Sky and the BBC, to show off his worm dance move. “He’s got it nailed now,” Finlay’s father, Dan, joked. “It’s just been unreal, it was good that [Jack Grealish] remembered it and now, the way it’s exploded, it’s just what every 12-year-old boy dreams of, seeing your idol doing it on the world stage.”

Finlay, a keen football player himself, is currently taking a break from the pitch due to a sore ankle. But he is keen to get practising the worm when he gets back to full fitness and hopes it will become a favourite celebration for players around the world.
