Helen Armstrong, who has owned a hair salon in West Kilbride for 20 years, says she was forced to install CCTV after the business was targeted multiple times
A Scots salon owner said she is 'tired and fed up' of thieves breaking into her business after the second incident in a number of years left her with a bill close to £1,000.
The man was caught on Helen's own CCTV breaking down the door before rummaging through the entire shop before making off with a small sum of money and a set of keys. Helen was left with £800 to pay for damage and lock changes. "It will cost me around £800 to get the door repaired and replace the locks as he lifted a set of keys. It is a lot of money and I'll have to pay it out of my own pocket because if I put it through my insurance, they will put the price right up.Helen is hoping there will be an arrest but said the lack of CCTV in the local area was a big concern for businesses.
A Police Spokesperson confirmed they were called to the premises following the incident. They added: “Enquiries are ongoing.”
