WASHINGTON—Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan denounced vulgar images and comments, including content advocating violence, that were posted in a Facebook group by current and former Border Patrol agents, becoming the highest ranking member of the Trump administration to promise accountability for the employees’ actions.

“Any employee found to have compromised the public’s trust in our law-enforcement mission will be held accountable,” said Mr. McAleenan, calling the posts “completely unacceptable.”
