'Every time I touch the ball, I feel like I’m one step away.' Week by week, Travis Etienne is feeling more comfortable and more confident as he grows in the Jaguars' offense.
“I feel like that every time I touch the ball. I have that home run threat ability,” he said. “Every time I touch the ball, I feel like I’m one step away. Football is a game of inches and when you’re off a little bit it makes a big difference.”
When asked if he’d ever talk to the coaches about getting more receiving plays, he laughed before saying he wouldn’t. But he stands on being a playmaker and being ready whenever he’s needed. Defensive back Stephon Gilmore had an interception and game-clinching pass breakup against the Broncos in Indianapolis’ victory against Denver last week. In the fourth quarter, he intercepted a Russel Wilson pass in the end zone and his pass deflection in the end zone closed the game in overtime.
