Haze, a dog that went missing in Lawrence on Nov. 19, was brought to the Quincy Animal Shelter. He was reunited with his family after a month missing.QUINCY, Mass. — Almost a month had gone by since Jordian Maldonado’s 14-year-old pit bull, Haze, escaped from his yard in Lawrence, Massachusetts,Maldonado reached out to Missing Dogs Massachusetts, a group of volunteers who help track down lost pets, and used social media as much as possible to spread the word about Haze.
Maldonado said he's had Haze since he was a puppy, and the thought of not seeing him again was heartbreaking.Nearly a month and some 40 miles later, Maldonado finally learned where Haze had been all that time: Quincy Animal Shelter. “He was so excited to see me. He must have thought I abandoned him,” Maldonado said. “I’m really grateful for the people at the shelter who took care of him all that time. He was there for three weeks.”
Jenny Scacca, a volunteer with Missing Dogs Massachusetts, said she keeps an album of missing dog photos on her phone, and just so happened to see Haze before stumbling across the shelter's post.
