It’s been a troubling time for Holly Willoughby, who earlier this month found her safety compromised when news broke that a 36-year-old man had allegedly plotted to kidnap and murder her. Shortly after the shocking headlines,, a role she’d held for 14 years.
A source close to the 42 year old – who is reportedly deciding if she wants to stay in London, where she lives with husband Dan and their three children – says, “Even though she’s aware she has a massive following and was on a show watched by millions, Holly has always managed to quite easily keep her family and personal life private, until now.
On 6 October, security guard Gavin Plumb was accused of soliciting to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnap. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court next month. Meanwhile, the broadcaster – who has also had to weather the storm of a public friendship breakdown with co-host Phillip Schofield this year – has been lying low ever since the threat to her safety.
“She is petrified to leave the house and doesn’t want to be away from the security she has in place in the UK,” a source said.And now we’re told Holly is contemplating having zero online presence, despite building up a strong digital following. For years, Holly has used Instagram as a means to keep fans updated on projects, where they can snap up items in her work wardrobe, titbits about family life, and the latest from her lifestyle brand, Wylde Moon.
