A historic Waco castle remodeled by Chip and Joanna Gaines is going up for auction soon.
Construction initially started in 1890 and was inspired by castles along the Rhine River in Germany. The property has changed ownership over the decades and received a historical designation in 1977. Chip and Joanna Gaines bought the property in 2019 and documented the renovations on the Magnolia Network series ‘Fixer Upper: The Castle’ in late 2022.
The 6,176 square foot property boasts four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and sits on 1.5 acres. The home also includes a drawing room, dining room, conservatory, formal library, game room, and a basement finished as a family room with a guest room and additional bathroom. Along with the renovations, the castle still holds several of its original materials, including intricate millwork and diamond-paned windows, Honduran mahogany paneling, Caen stone and Carrara marble.
