Produced in partnership with The Hip, Echoes Of The Flame includes 18 paintings, sculptures and mixed media artworks using lyrics chosen from the band’s catalogue. The Hip oversaw the artist selection process for the exhibition — among them producer-musician Daniel Lanois and musician Tom Wilson — ensuring that Canadian artists made up 75% of the roster with representation from Indigenous creators and French Canadians.
A portion of the original artwork’s sales will be donated to the Tsi Tyonnheht Onkwawen:na language and cultural centre on a Mohawk reservation in Tyendinaga, Ont., to help build a school dedicated to teaching students their Indigenous language.Share this article in your social network
