A 43-year-old hiker was airlifted to safety after falling on Lion's Head in Cape Town. WSAR Western Cape responded to the incident, working alongside EMS/AMS to rescue the injured hiker.
Wilderness Search and Rescue ( WSAR ) Western Cape responded to an incident on Lion's Head after a 43-year-old hiker fell while descending the popular trail. The woman was making her way down a narrow section of the trail near the pine trees when she suddenly slipped and fell.A small team on board the Western Cape Government Health and Wellness EMS/Air Mercy Service (AMS) rescue helicopter was flown to the scene.
They were lowered to a point close to the injured hiker, where she was treated by an EMS paramedic. The hiker was then helped into a rescue stretcher and hoisted from the mountain. The rescue helicopter flew her to a nearby landing zone.WSAR Western Cape wishes the hiker a speedy recovery
