Households in Alwoodley reign top for highest earning households in Yorkshire
The average household in the neighbourhood earned a mean £63,800 in the financial year ending 2020, according to new data from the Office for National Statistics. That's compared to the national average of £32,000 per household.
There is a North/South divide when it comes to neighbourhood incomes. A total of 45 of the lowest earning neighbourhoods are in the North. Yorkshire & the Humber accounts for 30 of them, the North West for eight and the North East for seven.Another four are in the East Midlands and one is in the West Midlands with none in the South. Bradford has 11 areas in the bottom 50, a higher number than any other local authority in the country. Leeds, meanwhile, has six and Sheffield has five.

The 10 highest earning neighbourhoods in Leeds The 10 lowest earning neighbourhoods in Leeds Clapham Common has the highest household income of any neighbourhood in England and Wales. Households in the leafy London suburb earn an average of £108,100 a year according to the ONS data.
Grimsby East Marsh & Port has the lowest average household income of any neighbourhood in the country. Households there earn just £22,200 on average each year, almost five times less than in Clapham Common.
