A high-risk sex offender is now wanted Canada-wide after walking away from his halfway house hours after being released.

Vancouver police are searching for 60-year-old John Frederick Field who received statutory release from Kent Institution on Thursday . Field left his Vancouver halfway house around 7:30 p.m. and has not been seen or heard from since. He has a history of committing violent offences while under the influence of drugs and is considered a significant risk to the public.His current whereabouts are unknown. Anyone who sees him or knows his location is asked to call 911 immediately.
