This bug in The First Descendant actually does make a difference when it comes to games, dealing higher DPS now.
If you have a souped up gaming PC and you’re wondering why you’re finding The First Descendant so easy, it’s probably because of a bug that lets you deal more DPS thanks to your frame rate. “Better grind for better hardware irl to get over the framerate paywall,” one user writes full of jest. This issue was first discovered by YouTube Ryechews Games who implores people to “Change your settings, change your damage.
The difference in DPS is calculated as 20%, which is staggering when you really consider that. Thankfully, The Last Descendant is a primarily PvE based game, so it’s unlikely that many will feel hard-done by this one. One of the fundamental teachings in game development is to use delta time rather than a constant tick timer. This means that calculations are performed at a constant rate rather than on each actual new frame. This is an issue that Destiny has faced before too.
