In a Direct video this morning, Nintendo shared a plethora of new features coming to its upcomingEmphasizing customization, players don't need to settle on random town layouts: instead,they're given a few template options at the start—including what hemisphere the island is located, which affects the seasons—as well as the ability to fully terraform the land and add rivers and paths, a first for the series.
As was previously known, the game will only support one island per cartridge, but Nintendo is adding 8-player multiplayer—which will allow players to either visit other players' homes online or collectively live together in one village.players, and it will also allow players to import previously made designs from the Nintendo 3DS games
