New fan art honors Henry Cavill's Superman by recreating an iconic Spider-Man farewell, following DC Head James Gunn's announcement of Cavill not returning as the hero in the DC Universe. Cavill first debuted as Superman in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, back in 2013. The movie generated some controversy over Superman killing General Zod, but overall, moviegoers enjoyed Cavill's performance as Clark Kent and his alter ego.

Ever since DC went into disarray, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have been asking for Cavill to make the jump from DC to Marvel, and it finally might be close to happening. There are a few Marvel roles for Cavill, some of which make more sense than others, including Wolverine, even if Hugh Jackman is returning for Deadpool 3, or Captain Britain and Hyperion/Sentry.
Who Could Lead James Gunn's Superman Reboot? Gunn plans to fully reboot Superman, with a younger Clark Kent leading the new DCU. With the only ongoing Superman live action project at the moment removing Clark as a Daily Planet reporter, Gunn plans to have the character be firmly planted in that role for the DCU, as well as introduce Clark as a cub reporter at the Daily Planet, and show his first meeting with characters like Lois Lane.
