Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been added to England’s squad for the Nations League matches against Italy and Germany after recovering from injury. The 32-year-old has already linked up with the squad at St. George’s Park as they continue preparing for their upcoming matches. Henderson was originally ruled out for three weeks after damaging his hamstring in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Newcastle United on August 31.
While he wasn’t named in the initial 28-man squad last week, he was desperate to be part of England’s final camp before the Qatar World Cup and had remained in contact with manager Gareth Southgate. Henderson has made five Premier League appearances so far this season for his club and news of his return will be a boost to his club manager Jurgen Klopp.
