At the premiere of the biopicin which she plays Israel’s first female Prime Minister, Golda Meir, Mirren looked stunning wearing a fitted black dress and new hairstyle.Enhancing her glamorous red lip and bare décolletage, the actor wore her silver hair in long, Rapunzel-esque waves.

Mirren wearing her hair this long represents more of a statement than it perhaps should. There is an old-fashioned idea that once a woman reaches “a certain age”, she should cut her hair short – that long, flowing hair is somehow the sole preserve of young women.
