Mbuyisa Makhubo's whereabouts remain a mystery up until now.

With over 3,3 million young people unemployed, government has identified the creation of jobs for youth as one of its key priorities. Museum has launched a research project aimed at exclusively studying the life and time youth struggle icon Mbuyisa Makhubo and what happened to him.

The Museum’s curator Prince Dube says the initiative will involve researching Makhubo’s life story with Dube saying all materials collected from research will be displayed in an art exhibition at the Museum. Meanwhile, Makhubo’s sister, Nontsikelelo, says she remains hopeful that the research will help her family find closure.
