The storm is expected to bring showers to the region until Thursday evening. A winter storm warning remains in effect for mountain areas until Friday morning.
A heavy storm that brought record-breaking low temperatures continued to wreak some havoc on Southern California overnight and into Thursday morning with road closures and several traffic crashes.
State Route 39 in the San Gabriel Mountains was also closed on the north end at Crystal Lake Road due to landslides, officials said.The storm also led to mandatory evacuation orders and hard road closures in Silverado, Williams and Modjeska canyons in Orange County, but only light rain had fallen overnight and Thursday morning, said Sgt. Ryan Anderson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
