Heavy rain Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday in Chicago
CHICAGO — A Flood Watch is in effect from I-55 southeastward, including the Chicago area and northwest Indiana. Periods of heavy, tropical rain may flood roadways, fields, and basements through midday Wednesday.The remnants of once-major hurricane Beryl send copious moisture our way, colliding with a stalled front overhead. This combination will lead to rain overspreading the area from south to north on Tuesday, widespread rain Tuesday night, and a wet Wednesday morning commute.
While DeKalb and McHenry counties may see less than an inch of rain, Chicago is likely to see 1-2 inches, and parts of northwest Indiana may total 4-5 inches.
