This heat wave\u0027s hottest days will be on Wednesday to Friday, said Environment Canada.
Affected areas include most of the province including Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, where daytime highs are expected to hit up to 35 C inland and up to 29 C near the water.
The heat warning extends as far north as the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District and the North Coast, and includes the Interior, Cariboo and the Kootenays, Gulf Islands and eastern and inland Vancouver Island. Other parts of the province, particularly in the Fraser Canyon and in the Interior, will get hotter temperatures, with daytime highs expected to reach up to 40 C.
The hottest days of the week are expected to be Wednesday to Friday, with the hottest time of day in the late afternoon to early evening, said the weather agency.This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.“The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors,” said Environment Canada.
