The Nuggets will find your weakness. If you force them to play your style, they just play it better than you do, WillGuillory writes. A Heat team that has had all the answers may have finally run out of them.
The Nuggets will find your weakness. No matter how hard you try to find it. If you force them to play your style, they just play it better than you do.
The Heat have scored less than 100 points in three of the four games this series, all of Denver’s wins, and the Nuggets have forced Miami away from some of the pet actions it often uses to generate easy offense.Miami’s dominance from the 3-point line – a significant reason they survived three rounds — has become a thing of the past. The team went 8-of-25 from deep on Friday and only once in the series have the Heat made 15 or more 3-pointers.
Denver has also limited Butler more than anyone else in these playoffs, which has been quite the surprise for a team that lacked focus on defense most of the regular season. Some of Butler’s drop-off has looked like a product of his body wearing down as the playoffs have lingered. His explosiveness around the rim has looked different since about midway through the Boston series.
Based on what we’ve seen in the last two games, all signs point to Denver ending this series sooner rather than later. The outcome most are expecting is Denver closing the series out in Game 5 and dropping confetti on the home crowd at Ball Arena. While all of that may be true, it’s hard to see the Heat quietly going away without putting up some kind of fight. This group never stops moving forward – no matter how hurt or sick they may be. And they seem to come back stronger every time they get knocked down. It’s a quality very few teams possess.
