It’s a big loss to Labour Party.”The father-of-five was made an Alderman of the Borough in 2017, and when he went into convalescence, he hung his certificate proudly on his wall. Bill campaigned for the Labour Party for some 40 years, delivering leaflets in all weathers with his wife Glenys. The grandfather-of-six also helped out Mr Jones during the 2019 general election campaign.
He was always actively involved with the local committee attending nearly every meeting for decades and, held the office of Chair of the local party. Bill was born and raised in Westminster, London and worked for almost the entirety of his life as a pioneering computer programmer. He also served as a local councillor in Bracknell and he had passions for music, particularly jazz and soul music.
