Health departments in the spotlight for material irregularities
Auditor- General Tsakani Maluleke has flagged provincial health departments for material irregularities.This was contained in her review of annual performance plans that she presented to the portfolio committee on health this week.
She said that, because of the material irregularities she and her staff had identified, financial losses of R148 million had been recovered, potential financial losses of R636 million had been prevented and financial losses of R509 million were in the process of being recovered.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
