Health Canada is out with a warning after discovering counterfeit COVID-19 rapid testing kits in Ontario.. Officials say they have not yet figured out whether they actually work or are safe to use.kits that are made by the company BTNX.
“Health Canada is committed to protecting Canada’s supply of licensed COVID-19 test kits and preventing counterfeit products from entering the Canadian supply chain,” said officials. “It will continue to assess any potential counterfeit products it becomes aware of and to take compliance and enforcement action as needed, including informing consumers.”While the boxes are very similar in appearance, the counterfeits have the company name “Health Advance” printed on them.
They also have the incorrect terms “Official Canadian Distributor” and “Health Canada Approved” printed on them. If you think your kit may be counterfeit, you should avoid using it.
