The singer said early in her career, when she was still studying, her then record label took her music to the SABC which led to Eddie Zondi picking up her singleBerita recalled how Oskido was impressed when he saw her perform“The album was big, I started touring with Oskido and he literally gave me my first big break,” she said.
Oskido's legacy spans over three decades and he has built a reputation for assisting artists along the way and mentoring them. “It fills one with a sense of gratitude for making a difference and a sense of pride in us as a team that worked together for more than 30 years. Now it is about empowering the new generation and handing over the baton,” he told TshisaLIVE.
Earlier this year, the star recounted his struggle with music ownership, saying he had to approach major labels to distribute his music.“Having been in the music industry for almost three decades, I realised young people are faced with similar music distribution issues I faced many years ago. But with so much technology today, we shouldn't have these problems. So I'm trying to provide a solution to artists.
