At a press conference Wednesday, Hayward’s police chief vowed to find the shooting suspect and asked for the public’s help in tracking him down.
HAYWARD — Police pleaded for the public’s help Wednesday in tracking down a man suspected of gunning down the mother of his 5-year-old child, as well as critically injuring her new romantic partner.
“He remains at-large and he should be considered armed and dangerous,” said acting Hayward police Chief Bryan Matthews said. “We believe Mr. Boatner has access to vehicles, but we do not currently know what he is using for transportation.” Aldridge and Boatner had been married at one point, and while it is unclear if they were divorced, they had been separated “for some time,” Matthews said. Their 5-year-old child was found uninjured inside the house after the shooting, and she is currently being cared for by Aldridge’s relatives, police said.
