Hawks Open Trade Talks On John Collins - RealGM Wiretap

The Atlanta Hawks have opened up preliminary trade discussions on John Collins, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Collins is in the season-year of a $125 million deal. Collins has long been mentioned in trade rumors with the Hawks appearing to be close to a trade this past offseason. The Hawks don't have an imminent trade in place involving Collins and talks are expected to continue through the Feb. 9th trade deadline.

The Phoenix Suns have shown interest in Collins, but they appear reluctant to take on long-term money and to trade future first round picks due to the uncertainty of their ownership. Robert Sarver is in the process of selling the Suns.
