Winslet discusses self worth in an empowering new video.

If you’re having a bad day or your self worth is at an all time low, take note of Kate Winslet’s advice. In a new video for the actor’s powerful speech – in which she removes all of her make-up – about self worth and how to embrace every element of yourself, is enough to get anyone up and at ’em.

“To say this phrase and to believe in it means you’ve lived through something that has affected you, or made you stronger, or even made you question your boundaries and where they lie,” she tellsis an important affirmation to make for oneself. None of us know everyone else’s story and the most important thing about that phrase is that it eliminates judgement – so don’t allow yourself to feel judged. It’s okay, simply, to be you.

Reflecting on what she would say to younger generations who are struggling with their self esteem, she says she has so many thoughts that she could “write a novel”. “I think the main thing I’d like to convey is that happiness and self-care aren’t just about what you look like,” she says. “Take care of your mindset, go easy on yourself. Don’t strive for impossible ideals. Don’t allow social media to suck you into a vortex that can sometimes be misleading.
