This picture was taken more than 70 years and it shows the entrance to a park in Watford that people continue to enjoy every day.
The Watford Observer is delighted to share pictures from the archive at Watford Museum and this week we look back at this view of Harebreaks Recreation Ground. The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: “Today, entrances to our recreation grounds and parks have a simple and open design. “This photograph, looking out of the Harebreaks Recreation Ground towards the road seems more complex.“Where there had been a grassy area there was now planting and flowers along both sides of the path.We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues. The ability to comment on our stories is a privilege, not a right, however, and that privilege may be withdrawn if it is abused or misused.
