A group under the aegis of Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria, IBBN has said the only way to stop the ongoing protest and hunger in the country is for President Bola Tinubu to revert to the subsidy regime and return to the old electricity tariff.

The group also said while Nigerians are groaning in hunger and pain, the leaders are living in affluence at the detriment of its citizens. This was disclosed by the Convener of the group, Prophet Isa El-Buba while addressing protesters during a peaceful protest in Jos the Plateau State Capital on Thursday. He said, 'Every Nigerian that is going through pain will know that this is a fight for us to make sure that we get the right governance for our nation.

On the allegation that the protest is a northern agenda, El-Buba said, 'Some people say the protest is a northern agenda, while others say it is a Fulani agenda, but I'm not carrying out any of the two, but I'm carrying a Nigeria agenda'. 'However, for this protest to stop, and to end this hardship, President Bola Tinubu must reverse the pump price of petrol, and the electricity tariff, among others.
