Executive producer Maril Davis explains why one fan-favorite sex scene from the Outlander novel series won’t be featured in season 7 of the show.
Outlander executive producer Maril Davis explains why one steamy scene from the novels won't be included in the upcoming season 7 of the Starz series. Based on the books by Diana Gabaldon, Outlander first premiered in 2014, telling the story of World War II nurse Claire who goes back in time to 18th century Scotland. There, she meets and falls in love with Highland warrior Jamie and becomes embroiled in a growing rebellion.
“Some of it was a location thing. You know, in the book, it’s a little — and I love the books — but it was hard to imagine that scene being pulled off. And if you see our sets for [setting redacted because it’s a spoiler]… it’s just not a possibility. That wasn’t happening.”
